Starting at the U12 there are 2 divisions to choose from A/AA and B:
B Division (regional):
This division is similar to house leagues with a lower time/financial commitment and no tryouts. Generally, one practice and one game per week similar to U10 structure. You can expect 1-3 tournaments and a Regional Championship Event.
A/AA Divisions (provincial):
These divisions are more competitive with a bigger time/financial commitment and requires tryouts. At the provincial level there is additional power skating (additional cost) and dryland training. You can expect 1-4 tournaments and a Provincial Championship Event, travel can be more extensive at the provincial level. Additional costs for jerseys and teamwear.
