Ringette teams are formed based on the age of the player.
Ringette Canada (RC) and Ringette Ontario (RO) rules shall apply unless otherwise stated below.
The Lower Ontario Ringette League (LORL) offers recreational Ringette in the following age groups/categories on a calendar year basis at the beginning of each playing season:
FUN1, FUN2 and FUN3 age levels are considered are part of Ringette Ontario's Children’s Ringette initiative. It's goal is to promote a fun, safe and healthy environment, supports the development of physical literacy and the long-term development of all players. Review FUNdamentals program for details.
Starting at the U12 there are 2 divisions to choose from A and B:
B Division (regional):
This division is similar to house leagues with a lower time/financial commitment and no tryouts. Generally, one practice and one game per week similar to U10 structure. You can expect 1-3 tournaments and a Regional Championship Event.
A/AA Divisions (provincial):
These divisions are more competitive with a bigger time/financial commitment and requires tryouts. At the provincial level there is additional power skating (additional cost) and dryland training. You can expect 1-4 tournaments and a Provincial Championship Event, travel can be more extensive at the provincial level. Additional costs for jerseys and team apparel.
