Sad news for the RAB Community - John Batchelor
Submitted By Les Marozsan on Sunday, July 18, 2021
A longtime member and ambassador to the Burlington Ringette community, John Batchelor, lost his battle with cancer this past week at the age of 60. It is with heavy hearts we express our sincerest condolences to his wife Sandy and their children Rhiannon and Torrin.

John was a member of RAB for over a decade including being a Team Manager and a member of the RAB executive including the role of President. John's passion for the sport of Ringette impacted both the organization and innumerous young ringette players, including his own daughter Rhiannon. John always emphasized the importance of "fun and friendship" in sport and this philosophy continues to be the cornerstone of our belief system in RAB.  John created the concept of the BTF (Bunny Task Force) which has remained the foundation of RAB's continued growth and strength within the sport. This committee is responsible for creating Learn to Skate programming and engaging youth in a fun way as an introduction to the sport of ringette. John was also involved at the Regional level having been the Chair of the Southern Region Ringette Association (SRRA) where he not only represented the interests of Burlington, but also those of the entire Southern Region. John has left a lasting legacy within RAB and we thank him for it. John, your generosity of spirit will be missed.
